The EDAA has established a variety of awards to recognize those members
who have made outstanding contributions to the progress and professionalism of our association.
Nomination forms are
found at the bottom of this page and nominations can be made through the EDAA Message Center by fax, email or regular
mail. The deadlines for nomination are noted after each award.
DENTAL ASSISTANTS WEEK CERTIFICATE
Presented
to all EDAA members who are nominated. The nominee must be an EDAA member in good standing who has demonstrated qualities
which make them outstanding dental assistants in their work environment and who have exhibited outstanding dedication and
service in the performance of their employment duties. A written outline of how the nominee has met the criteria must accompany
the nomination. Deadline for nominations is 1 week prior to the Dental Assistants Week celebrations scheduled by the
EDAA.
SUPPORTIVE MEMBER AWARD
Presented to an EDAA member in good standing who has contributed to the success
and progress of this association through regular attendance at EDAA meetings and events and has participated as a volunteer
for this association. This award is meant to recognize those members who work behind the scenes and support the association
through their willingness to attend and participate in EDAA events and activities. A written outline of how the nominee
has met the criteria must accompany the nomination. Deadline for nominations is February 1st.
EDAA SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD
Presented to a nominee who is a member in
good standing of the EDAA and who has made an outstanding contribution in some manner to the Dental Assisting profession,
the EDAA or the public / community. Deadline for nominations is February 1st.
EDAA SERVICE AWARD
Presented
to a nominee who is a member in good standing of the EDAA, who has demonstrated outstanding longterm service to the EDAA,
and whose continuing efforts have contributed to the growth, progress and professionalism of our association. Deadline for
nominations is February 1st.
EDAA HONORARY MEMBER AWARD
This is our associations most prestigious award.
Presented at the Annual Meeting in May. Presented to a member in good standing of the EDAA for 15 or more years, who has demonstrated
a consistent contribution to the welfare of this association and a willingness to participate in any service, large or small.
This member has contributed to the progress and professionalism of our association longterm. Deadline for nominations is April
1st. For nomination form and instructions please contact the EDAA office.
EDAA STUDENT MEMBER AWARD
Student
members who meet our criteria are eligible to receive the EDAA Student Member Award. There is 1 student member award available
for presentation to an EDAA member from the NAIT Day Program, the NAIT Independent Study Program and the KDM Day Program each
year. This award consists of an engraved keepsake and a cheque for $150. Only EDAA student members are eligible for these
awards. Nominations are received from the schools by June 15th.
EDAA 25 year and 40 year MEMBER AWARD
An E.D.A.A. member who has been a member in good standing and has paid E.D.A.A.
membership dues for a total of 25/40 years will be eligible for this award. The 25/40 years will include
their year of student membership if paid to the E.D.A.A. local. All members who meet the criteria will receive this
award. Once the eligible members have been identified they will be contacted by letter and informed of
their award. They will be invited to accept their award at the D.A.W. Social whenever possible.
EDAA CLINIC AWARD
Any EDAA member in good standing who presents a Clinic to association members at the EDAA Clinic
Competition which conforms to the Rules of Clinic Competition is eligible to compete for this award. The recipient will
be the clinician(s) awarded the highest score by the Judges.

may not necessarily be presented each year and that a single nomination for any award does not automatically guarantee that
the nominee will receive that award. The Awards Committee will review each nomination so only those members truly deserving
of recognition are presented with these awards. Their decision is final.
